Starman is the title of the first artwork to emerge from Marte Newcombe's printmaking studio since its construction was completed in 2015. A David Bowie tribute, the silkscreen is a collaboration between Castlemaine artist, Clayton Tremlett and Marte Newcombe. The print was developed for the 50/50 exhibition of the Castlemaine Press printmakers collective at Lot 19 in Victoria, Australia. The ‘50/50’ exhibition is on 12 to 14 and 19 to 20 March and honours and celebrates working together and features print works by Castlemaine Press members, created in pairs and inspired by themes of collaboration and connection. The exhibition and the Starman print feature in Art Almanac this month.
